It's not often these days that I come across something that moves me to update my blog. But the Land Rover Defender impressed me with it's amazing abilities and I had to post some videos of it. The sad thing is Land Rover is discontinuing the Defender this year. Enjoy the videos.
Here's one person's (James May from Top Gear, UK) plan to save it.

Gymkhana Seven and the 2015 Shelby GT350 Mustang by Ford
Although Ken Block heads DC Shoes, and I'm not a fan of the company anymore after their poor handling of our shoe issues (times three, as seen in the tweet below), he is an amazing driver.

I've posted other Gymkhana videos, but this might be my favorite. It features a super modified 1965 Ford Mustang, with all wheel drive. Some of the highlights of the video include a reference to the OJ Simpson chase, the Los Angeles low-rider scene, the concrete river, and the Hollywood sign. Check it out.
This is also a cool day to post this video, because the 2015 Shelby GT350 Mustang by Ford was announced. See the picture above or watch the video in Ford's tweet below.

Thanks Ben, for the alert to the Gymkhana video.

Drum Battle, USA vs Korea
This is great on a few levels. I love the respect for each other and the amazing performances of each drum line. I also love the USA Marines taking it to a whole different level.

I was on vacation this last week and I got through a log of reading from the blogs I follow. I also saw a lot of funny videos, I thought I'd share. Here we go with another installment of "My YouTube History".

My YouTube History...Because I Don't Have Time To Blog 2
I had to start with this one, I tweeted on May 18th.
This is cool.
Acapella done acapella.
A little "pick me up" sent from @techyted
I may be getting a little tired of Nataly's voice, because there is a little too much of the same muted sound, but I feel like this sound she sounds really good.
Because it's funny that these guys did this.
These guys are just such talented musicians. They make me want my piano back so bad.
"With the growing trend..."
Lucky or Unlucky?
Engrish is hard.
Are you kidding me?
This is stupid and crazy.

Remember When I Used to Blog?
This is cool.
"Box" explores the synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping on moving surfaces. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely in camera. Bot & Dolly produced this work to serve as both an artistic statement and technical demonstration. It is the culmination of multiple technologies, including large scale robotics, projection mapping, and software engineering. We believe this methodology has tremendous potential to radically transform theatrical presentations, and define new genres of expression.

It's been a while since I found time to update the ol' blog. I found this video and had to share. Once it gets going it's amazing. Enjoy.

More Than Amazing, More Than Words, A Joy Of This Man's Desiring
If you haven't seen videos from or heard of The Piano Guys, you may not be a true "lover of music". These guys are super talented. I first discovered them from their cheesy and hilarious master piece of Star Wars music mashed into one amazing piece of music (see here).
Today I discovered this Mash-up of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring", by Bach and "More Than Words" by Extreme. Seems like an odd paring, but this is really good. And the guy they have singing it has an amazing voice.
The cool thing about "More Than Words" is remembering the first time I heard this song and how much I liked it. I was in high school, and I can remember being in a photography class that I never actually had to attend because we were all out "taking pictures". The teacher's name was "Kim" so you know she was cool, you know, because you didn't have to call her by her title and last name (which I can't even remember anyway).

Romney Steals The Show...Comedy Gold
This is MY blog and therefore leans towards one of the candidates over the other, but if you don't find Romney's speech an example of great comedic timing and joke content, you are clueless. For the sake of some fairness and comparison, I've also included Obama's speech, which is also entertaining.
Romney's first.
Here's Obama's. I really like the shot he takes at Mayor Bloomberg.

Audi is "Beauty Made Powerful"
I posted a picture of an Audi R8 today; I saw it on my way to work. It is a thing of beauty. Tonight I came across this commercial for the S8, the race inspired sedan by Audi. Again , the first thing that came to my mind was beauty , followed by powerful.

2011 Kia Sorento...Might Be Time To Return Ours
Besides this video, which is enough to make me want to return my 2011 Kia Sorento, mine is currently going on the third day at the dealership for some issue with the transmission that we've taken it in on 2 times previous.
What should I do? Lemon Law? Also, there isn't a lower level of professionalism than that of the employees at the Kia dealer here. I can't believe the poor attitude and total disregard for customers. I'm really considering moving Kia back to the NEVER BUY list they were on before my 2011 purchase. This is what $10,000 cheaper than Honda's Pilot will get you.

A Google A Day...Why I'm Thinking of Switching From Apple

That, combined with the Galaxy Nexus, which would be the best Android phone available because it too runs a pure version of Android, would allow me to seamlessly switch from phone to tablet without losing information or access to my files.
The only problem I have in making the switch is the commitment I've already made to Apple. App purchases are the biggest, and as I write this I'm realizing I don't really use many apps that cost me money, but I know they work the way i want them to work. Really, I use the free apps like Twitter and Instagram to update my least favorite of apps, Facebook, so all my life is available to the waiting 50 people max that follow me. I just know all my wit can not be wasted or missed. Beyond apps, Apple's market share makes it hard to leave the devices most people are using. From my parents to most of my coworkers, the iPhone is still the majority device. Most of the Android people are diehards and praise their phones, but sometimes I can't tell if that's denial talking or true praise for their phones. iPhone is everywhere and works well with other iPhones. Android, although popular as well, does not have the market share the iPhone has. But, maybe that's a good thing too. Just as Apple once was the underdog, pushed to make better products, so too are Google's devices and they've continued to get better and better. In fact, I would say from the first version to current, Android has increased in abilities and features much passed that of Apple's iOS software.
Anyway, I thought I'd post something about it. Maybe Google will want me as a tester....ha...a guy can dream. I actually watch a documentary last night on Google called "Inside the Mind of Google". It made me want to work for them. Produced by CNBC, and available to watch on Netflix or in a browser here, it was a balanced view of the company's business, weighing pros and cons on the type of business Google conducts. With access to so much private information about so many people, Google is easily demonized. But, I felt like from the top down, people at Google want to follow their own policies (not required by law) to protect its users privacy. If anything, I believe I gained a deeper respect for Google and their commitment to operate within its policies and attempt to be fair, private, and reliable to its users. If you want more on my opinion of Google, check out my old post "If I Were CEO...Google" from 2010.
