Killing Hostility, Giving Peace

I learned a little more about the symbolism in verse 14 of Ephesians 2. In the time Paul wrote this passage, the Temple had a wall dividing were the Gentiles and the Jews were allowed to go. Jesus effectively broke down this wall by dying for both Jews and Gentiles. He "made us both one...(15)by abolishing the law of commandments and ordinances, that he might create in Himself one new man in place of the two." Through the death and resurrection of Christ we are saved alike or both reconciled to God, "(16)thereby killing the hostility." There was a lot of hostility between Jews and Gentiles. But God put an end to that through His Son.

Praise God for His Peace.
