We Are Fellow Citizens

I realize I ended yesterday's entry with a statement about there being no more hostility between Jews and Gentiles. While I know there is always some sort of conflict surrounding Jews and Israel, Christ provided that both Jews and Gentiles can be equal and will be in Heaven. There is an available peace for both. Ephesians 2:17-19 starts by telling us that Jesus came and preached that peace both near and far, meaning to Jews and Gentiles. And through Christ both Jews and Gentiles have access in one Spirit (the Holy Spirit) to the Father. This concept was especially hard of the Jews because they believed they were the chosen people. They received God's promise not the rest of humanity.

Thank the Lord for His Son. Because Jesus preached this peace to everyone, we can share in it as equals. Verse 19 tells us we are "no longer strangers and aliens, but (we) are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God..." Fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, that is awesome. Remember we were adopted as sons, with all the benefits of being a full blooded child of the Father. Now we are known as fellow citizens, equal to the rest of the saints and members of God's household, all at peace with one another in Heaven. What a great God we have.

Praise God for His Peace.
